SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Southwest Missouri Investments, a subsidiary of Springfield based SRC Holdings Corporation, purchased the old Regal-Beloit building at 2401 East Sunshine.
According to Jack Stack, CEO of SRC Holdings, “Acquisition of this property enables SRC to expand its local operations and provide high quality manufacturing jobs in Springfield and Southwest Missouri.”
The main building on the 40+ acre parcel contains approximately 325,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space and is accessible from Sunshine Street or by rail through an on-site rail spur.
The Regal Beloit closed last December after restructuring, leaving 300 employees without a job. SRC currently employs 1,600 people in Springfield and Southwest Missouri.
With this acquisition, SRC suspended its development of 70 acres of land it owns on Mulroy Road. Today’s acquisition of the Sunshine property enables SRC to meet the current and projected needs of its employees and customers in a timely and economic manner.
